The Locals

5th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE CHURCH HOUSE - WE SURVIVED!

On the 31st of October 2006, Mike and Mandy arrived at the Church House Inn and things really have never been the same since!
So it was coming round to our fifth year anniversary, Mandy had already sourced a free banner printed from the lovely people of Thorntons Toffee, they visited us one evening for dinner and Mandy got chatting afterwards over a drink, there was a bet made that no one would remember the next day (after a fair few drinks we must admit!)
The following week, Mandy received a beautiful 'church house blue' banner (Thank you ever so much, and congratulations on winning the bet!) to hang across the fireplace.

Quizmaster Bill and Mandy invited the local community, friends, family and return guests who have now known us for five years to a party at the Inn to celebrate, as it was Halloween, it then became a fancy dress party. A 'bring your own' policy was put in place too, we were going to have a ball!

On the morning of the 31st, 8:30am precisely there was a small fire in one of the bedrooms, and all rooms had to be closed there and then. Everybody got out of the building un- harmed and eventually when the all clear was given the guests could enjoy a hearty full cooked breakfast.
Luckily there was a 70th birthday party for a local VIP of the area and the residents staying with us were all family, so it wasn't too awkward to everyone that they were all semi naked !

Spirits were low that day, we all shed a tear at some point, and so the party we were all waiting for seemed too stressful to go ahead with, and so we cancelled and said we would do it at a later date.

But..Quizmaster Bill wouldnt have it and insisted the party should go on!
And so it did.........Thank you to you all, we wouldn't have come this far without you!
